Founded in 2020, Eternali is developing a portfolio of FSC-certified eucalyptus plantations in Brazil while securing wood fibre supply contracts with the international forest industry and bioenergy companies.
The buyer is BSL Comércio Internacional S.A., a Portuguese trading company that handles large volumes of wood fibre on the international market. The signed agreement with BSL is for a first order of 10 000 tonnes of woodchips with shipment during 2023 and marks the start of commercial operations for the company.
The order has a value of approximately SEK 7 million (≈ EUR 597 000), and the plan for the new partnership with BSL is then to continue with ongoing deliveries of larger volumes following the first shipment.
It is an important step for us as a company to now move into delivering our products to customers. After a year of hard work in preparing and converting the plantation assets, building the logistical structure and planning for all certifications and regulatory permits for our plantations, it feels great to have found a partner like BSL for the first shipment of biomass. This order is all about proof of concept that will open up many doors for us for other offtake agreements with bioenergy producers and the paper/pulp industry, commented Andreas Forssell, CEO of Eternali.
