In the United States (US), SYSADVANCE North America, the North American arm of Portugal-headed gas technology company SYSADVANCE, has recently announced that it has been selected by Biogas Development to supply a biogas upgrading solution for an application that combines landfill gas (LFG) and biogas from a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP).
According to a statement, the Methagen AD 1200F system was selected by Biogas Development because of its capability to treat a blend of LFG from a landfill and biogas from a wastewater treatment plant.
The Methagen AD offered high methane recovery while continuously producing renewable natural gas (RNG) under the strict pipeline gas specification.
The RNG will be injected into one of the local natural gas pipelines.
When we see projects like this one coming to fruition, it makes us proud to be a part of the efforts to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases emitted to the atmosphere. This project will offset annually the amount of carbon emitted from almost 16 million gallons of gasoline used which equates to a fleet of approximately 27,000 vehicles, said Brent Jaklin, CEO at SYSADVANCE North America.
